Sightseeing Málaga

Plaza la Malagueta

Plaza de Toros La Malagueta is one of the most interesting and quintessentially Spanish hotspots in the city of Malaga. The hotel is located in the Malagueta district, near Playa La Malagueta, at the foot of the Gibralfaro mountain.

The bullring, built in the Neo-Moorish style with sixteen sides, is a protected monument.

Bullfighting

The Bullring was designed by architect Joaquín Rucoba and has hosted bullfights since 1876. Bullfighting is (yet) banned in Málaga, and the most popular takes place during the Málaga Fair in August. The arena sometimes hosts concerts. The fighting arena is 52 meters in diameter and can accommodate 9,000 spectators. Bullfighting prices usually range from 10 euros to over 100 euros. Courses are the cheapest in the scorching sun and heat.

Bullfighting arena museum

Museo Taurino Antonio Ordóñez is a bullring museum. Among other things, one can relate to thecostumes, photographs and objects related to bullfighting. You will get a good picture of the bullfighting world. Antonio Ordonez was a legendary bullfighter who had more than 3,000 bullfights to his name.

Entrance to the museum: 1.80 euros. (Children up to 7 years free)
